Welcome Third Grade Students and Families

Welcome to our class blog for this new 2018-2019 school year! I am really excited for this year. I hope you've been doing your summer reading and summer math work!

I love teaching 3rd grade and meeting a brand new group of students! I had a blast this summer spending time with my sons Liam (age 4) and Owen (age 2) as well as my dog, Gizmo.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all, but in the meantime please check out our classroom blog!  Please check out the important information on the right hand side.  This is where you'll find important notices, information about the class, and even homework/project templates. Below that are helpful links and posts regarding the different subjects we'll be learning about this year.

To share what's happening in the classroom I've chosen to use a website called ClassTag. It's a more private way of sharing what we do in our classroom. Be on the look out the first week for information about that.
Please contact me with any questions you may have! I can't wait to meet you and be your teacher!

Class Tag

We will be transitioning over any updated information to Class Tag this year as we try out a new way of communicating with you. This blog will remain here with helpful links and resources, but please check out Class Tag for all important information regarding our class. Please contact Mrs. Henneberry if you need help in logging in.

March Update

It's been a busy three weeks in March in room 13! We wrapped up Read Across America week with a few more fun Dr. Seuss friends.

We also had the unveiling of the new JFK stamp! It was such an honor to be part of it!

We will also be wrapping up both our fraction unit and our American Revolution units this week! In addition to that we are hoping to publish our persuasive letters this week, so please be on the look out for those!

Read Across America Week

it's Read Across America week! We will be celebrating reading all week in different ways. This Thursday (observing Dr. Seuss' birthday) we will watch Because of Winn Dixie as a culmination of our character study of Opal. Please make sure permission slips get returned ASAP.

Today we had a surprise on our whiteboard. We will have a different one each day this week. Here is today's surprise and also a sneak peek to tomorrow's. I hope everyone enjoys a good book this week!

World Read Aloud Day

Today we had a fantastic day!  We got to read aloud to Mrs. Maiato's students. Then we listened to actress Lily Tomlin read a book out loud.  After lunch we got to Skype with author Lauren Magaziner! Then to wrap up the day we had a mystery reader!  What a wonderful day filled with reading!
